Home Insurance and Understanding What is Included
March 12, 2008 – 8:20 amThe Structure
Home insurance basically have (3) three types. The first type are those that point to specific efforts to be taken to insure the physical structure of the home that you have rather than just the home itself as a whole. This insurance type is usually taken by any homeowner who do not literally live in their home but instead someone else is. This home insurance is concerned with the building of the home and hence, they have nothing to do with whatever you can find inside the house itself. So, basically, it is solely a home insurance that is dedicated to insure only the building and nothing else.
The Assets in the House
The second type would deal only on factors where the purchasers who buy home insurance policy would only want to insure the contents of the home and not the structure which is the exact reverse of the first type of insurance. This is applicable and intended to serve the tenants and do not own the structure or the home itself but only the stuff inside it because they are only renting it. In this case, any loss to the home structure does not matter as long as they have insured whatever it is that they have inside it. This may be categorically classified as a concern only for the safety of the assets inside the home and not the whole structure. Owners of this type of insurance tend only to look for home insurance policy that cover what is their own property that you can find inside the home, not the building itself. Generally, this is for tenants to avail of and not the home owner.
Both the Structure and the Assests
The third type of home insurance policy is that which covers both the home as well as its contents and this type of home insurance policy is taken only by those who own a home and live in it as well. the reason for this is because they are concerned of both the home and its content’s insurance and security in times of tragedy or natural disasters. Any incurred loss to the building structure or its assets that you can find inside has the same value for them so it is both included in the home insurance policy.
